Eligibility for subclass 190 visa

  • Your occupation must be from the skills list relevant to it
  • You must have the required skills assessment for the selected occupation
  • You need to have an invitation and satisfy the required score of the points test
  • You must be under the age of 45 years when you are invited (one can still apply if they 45 years old after receiving the invitation)
  • You must meet the necessary health and character requirements
  • You need to have the required level of English language proficiency
  • You or a family member of yours, even those who haven’t applied for the visa along with you cannot have any outstanding debt to the government of Australia. They must either be paid back or arranged for

  • You can stay permanently in Australia.
  • You can travel in and out of Australia from the date of the visa grant for 5 years, post which you will have to get an RRV (Resident Return Visa) subclass 155 or 157, to come back as a permanent resident to Australia.
  • You would be protected under the workplace law of Australia.
  • You can sponsor family members eligible to come to Australia being a permanent resident.
  • Once you have lived in Australia for a certain period you may go for citizenship in Australia. For this, your PR would be given on the day you are granted the visa if you were present in Australia; or, if you were not in Australia at the time it was granted and you entered the country on this visa.
